My name is Burgandy, I'm the new scribe sorry if there isn't as much as usual. We programmed robot c to move forward and backward due to our new programmer(me!). We need more tools before we can disassemble the robot. We had the robot disassembled  as much as is possible for now. We talked about community projects that we could do as a group.

Tell me about yourself

Today was mostly about getting to know each other on the team. We believe that by knowing each other, the team will be able to work better. We will know what our specialties are and what others are like. We had 7 members show up today and since this was a mandatory meeting, we are sure that these will be the only people on the team. After telling each other about our self, our leader, which is Marquel Rogers (hey, that's me! :P ) divided the group into sub-groups. We have an electrician group, mechanical group, programming group and fundraising group. Some members are in multiple groups while others are just in one. Things should move along better and faster now. We also talked about a finial decision about our robot. Since it is more efficient and lose less mechanical advantage due to friction, we will use a pulley system instead of screws. The mechanical group talked a little about how this would be set up and how much of the old robot should be disassembled. Our programmers learned a little about autonomous programming and maybe all that we may use.

There was no meeting last Thursday which is why there was no upload onto the blog. Today we had two new member join the team which is good. This brings out total to around 8 people. We are still disassembling the robot from last year and we decided to keep the lifting mechanism from last year to use for lifting this year. Also, we are having trouble with RobotC. We can't find our licence to validate our version so coding is at a stand-still as far as checking to see if it works. Hopefully we will get this fixed soon and will be able to compile our codes. Wish us luck with this year.

Mission Complete

This is an extra entry just to say that the robot for RobotC practice is complete!!! I spent 2 hours working on it at home and now we are almost ready to start playing with the program. I will edit this post or make a new one with pictures of the robot later on. That's all for today. Chatcha later!

Moving On

Not that many people showed up today. A total of 2 people and both are learning RobotC. That means that no progress had been made as far as on our robot for competition. The "RobotC Team" finish collecting all the needed part for the test robot we are going to use to learn how to code. We decided that since it isn't the competition robot, one of the members will take it home to build it so things will move faster. Hopefully this will be done by Thursday so we start coding. Nothing else was done today. A very slow day and hopefully our slowest day of the season.
